The recipient is the writer and artist Joe Brainard (1942-1994) with whom Waldman wrote Self Portrait (1972) - a great Beat association.
Anne Waldman (b.1945) is a writer, experimental poet, and lecturer connected to the Beat poets, in particular Allen Ginsberg, who once referred to Waldman as his spiritual wife. She is "known as one of the most influential performance poets of the 20th century", founded the poetry journal Angel Hair, and was active in editing a number of other key Beat publications (Oakes).

Slight water staining to lower edge with a little purple bleeding to pastedowns and along lower edge of jacket, the binding otherwise sharp, internally clean and fresh. A very good copy in the bright jacket, minor creasing and nicking to corners, not price-clipped.
