First edition, signed limited issue, number 93 of 325 copies signed by the author, of which 300 were for sale. Heaney's translation of the epic poem Beowulf won the 1999 Whitbread Book of the Year award. This limited edition contains a facsimile of the opening page of the only surviving manuscript of Beowulf, which is currently housed in the British Library.
