Boot and Shoe Manufacture.
A Comprehensive and Authoritative Guide to the Principles and Methods employed in the Manufacture of the Different Styles of Modern Footwear.London, Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons Ltd., 1931 Stock Code: 139179
NotesFirst and only edition of this richly illustrated guide to shoemaking. An excellent copy, the appearance of Pitman's books flatter to deceive, and they rarely survive in such sharp condition. Frank Plunkett was "a master of shoe manufacturing processes and theory" and wrote two books on the subject, about which "there is a considerable strength and directness" (Milsom p. 279).
Quarto. Dark red morocco-grained half roan, moderate red buckram, title gilt to the spine and front board.
21 plates, numerous line drawings and diagrams to the text.
Just a little rubbed, text mildly toned, very good indeed.
