Chorliederbuch für die Wehrmacht.
Im Auftrage der drei Wehrmachtteile herausgegeben von … in Verbindung mit Ernst-Lothar Knorr.Leipzig, C.F. Peters, Stock Code: 93223
NotesNazi-period armed forces song-book, first published 1937, this issue most likely 1945. This copy with the armorial bookplate of Peter Emil Króyer, né Krøyer-Kielberg, son of the Danish-born industrialist and philanthropist Ferdinand Michael Krøyer Kielberg, later Sir Michael, who settled in England in 1926. Peter was educated at Malrborough and served with distinction in World War II; promoted from cadet to 2nd Lieutenant in 1940, he was later a temporary captain in the Royal Artillery; gazetted for the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945 "in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in N.-W. Europe". Not desperately uncommon, but this a very interesting copy with it's unintentionally Kiplingesque English binding, and slightly exotic provenance.
Octavo. Contemporary black cloth by Bumpus, red morocco longitudinal label to the spine, left-facing swastika to the upper board, top edge gilt, white silk page-marker intact.
A little rubbed, label slightly scuffed, text browning, but overall very good.
