Christmas Greetings: Dialogue at Christmas.Curwen Press, London , 1925 Stock Code: 94481
NotesA set of five Christmas cards, featuring three variations on the design, which opens to reveal a rhyming dialogue written by John Drinkwater opposite a tinted illustration portraying a festive family scene by Alfred Rutherston. Two of the cards are from the limited edition of 210 copies (of which these are numbers 118 and 119), specially printed on Japanese vellum and each signed by Drinkwater and Rutherston. Another card with a slightly different layout of the dialogue is initialled by Drinkwater, with 'Proof' in manuscript on the front. The remaining two cards have the same layout as the limited edition, but are printed on ordinary paper, which Drinkwater has noted above his signature on the front of each card. A lovely set.
5 Christmas cards, each of a single folded sheet. Housed in a green cloth chemise.
Each with a colour illustration to the title page, full page opposite the text and vignette to the rear.
An excellent set, with some mild toning to edges.
