D. James.
ii) Horse Under Water inscribed on title page to the book reviewer Michael Clarke - "For Michael with thanks and best wishes Len Deighton".
iii) Funeral in Berlin signed by Deighton on the title page.
iv) Billion-Dollar Brain inscribed to the book reviewer Michael Clarke on the title page - "For Mike with good wishes and many thanks - Len Deighton".
The last volume includes the publisher's promotional replica of one of Deighton's small tan coloured notebooks, and a facsimile of an Aeroflot ticket, produced by Jonathan Cape for Putnam's as an advance promotional item for the trade, and not issued with the book.
4 volumes, octavo. Original cloth with dust jackets (first three volumes), original wrappers with proof dust jacket (Billion Dollar Brain); together with promotional notebook.
First three volumes fine copies, in near-fine jackets, lightly toned with very minor rubbing at extremities, all without chipping or repair, and with the prices intact; fourth volume (proof copy) book and jacket a little more shelfworn, but still in very good condition.
