De la création de l'ordre dans l'humanité,
ou principes d'organisation politique.Paris: Prévot; & Bintot, Besançon, 1843 Stock Code: 140940
NotesFirst edition of a text which spans social economy, religion, philosophy, logic, and dialectics. Despite his antagonistic relationship with the author, Marx guardedly praised the latter focus in The Creation of Order in Humanity, remarking that "the most important thing about Proudhon's book is his serial dialectic, the attempt to establish a method of thought by which the thought process takes the place of self-sufficient thought. Proudhon is searching from the French standpoint for a dialectic system such as Hegel has actually established" (from The German Ideology, quoted in Thomas, p. 216).
Duodecimo (170 x 105 mm). Rebound to style in tan polished quarter calf, smooth spine lettered and ruled in gilt, marbled boards and endpapers, edges sprinkled, green book marker.
A near-fine copy, with just the lightest of rubbing, contents crisp and clean.
