Notes

First edition of the first substantial book published by Robert Foulis, rarely found in uncut state and in a contemporary binding. The work was issued on three sizes of paper without priority, this being in demy octavo. Cicero was a mainstay of the Foulis brothers, with their press publishing a total of 24 editions of the author, partly to feed the demand from students at Glasgow University.
