Dream Days.
New York,: Dodd Mead and Co., 1902 Stock Code: 112013
First US edition of the illustrated edition, variant binding with Dodd Mead copyright, John Lane title page, Dodd Mead spine imprint. First printed in London the same year by John Lane. A sequel to Grahame's Golden Age. Dream Days is best noted for it's inclusion of the story, The Reluctant Dragon, which served as the basis for the 1941 Walt Disney animated film of the same name. "The Originals of the ten illustrations for Dream Days were made in colour, with chapter tailpieces being drawn in black and white. Unable to reproduce the illustrations in their original colours, John Lane decided to use a new black and white photogravure process which he felt would give better results than had been achieved with the halftone process. The result was a superiour quality and greater tonal range." -Coy Ludwig, Maxfield Parrish.
