First edition, US issue, one of 504 copies of the first edition sheets (published in London by Grant Richards in 1914, total edition 1,250 copies) imported to the US from England, with the cancel title page with Huebsch's imprint. This marked the first appearance of a book by Joyce in the US. With the bookplate of the Virginian poet Armistead Churchill Gordon (1855-1931) to the front pastedown.

Octavo. Original green cloth, spine and front cover lettered in green.

Condition

Spine sunned with light rubbing at ends, light foxing to initial and final leaves and to edges, minor toning to contents yet clean. A near-fine copy, binding square and cloth clean.
