First UK edition, first impression, of Beckett's comic experiment in an eschatology of lovelessness, inscribed by the author on the title page, "For Dan Pope, from Sam Beckett". Dan Pope is a publisher author and sometime dealer in rare books. Inscribed English language copies of Beckett's major plays, such as Endgame and Godot, are rare. The text was originally published in French the previous year as Fin de partie, and then for the first time in English by the Grove Press in New York earlier in 1958.
