First edition in French of Russell's Essay on the Foundations of Geometry, his second book and "first full-length philosophical work" (Richards, Essay on the Foundations of Geometry and the Cambridge mathematical tradition). The book was championed in France by the eminent mathematician Henri Poincaré, which led to Russell being invited to deliver a paper at the prestigious International Congress of Philosophy held in Paris in 1900, an event that profoundly affected his career. The French edition has a number of corrections and additions not found in the English work.
