With the very scarce jacketFirst Egoist Press edition - the second English edition overall - of Joyce's only play, rare in the dust jacket. This copy is of the first issue, one of 500 copies in green cloth, the remainder sheets of the entire edition of 1,000 copies being sold to Cape in 1924 and bound up after that date in black cloth. Though first published in 1918, by Grant Richards in London and Huebsch in New York, the play did not receive its first English-language production until February 1925.
Octavo. Original dark green cloth, gilt lettered spine, front cover lettered in blind. With dust jacket.
Jacket spine lightly toned, a few closed-tears, spine a little rolled, pale stains across back cover, touch of foxing to edges of book block. A very good copy in an attractive example of the dust jacket.
