Experiences of a Railway Guard.
Thrilling stories of the rail.Dundee, Campbell & Meldrum, Ltd., Stock Code: 112754
NotesFirst edition of this series of sketches compiled during the author's service on the Caledonian Railway. Rare: five copies only traced in libraries worldwide, all but one in the United Kingdom, and one copy of a putative second edition. Some of the sketches first appeared in the Weekly News, published by D. C. Thomson of Dundee.
Small octavo. Original printed light card wrappers, photographic illustration mounted to front wrapper as issued, fore edge untrimmed.
Contemporary ownership sticker of A. Dunsmore (dated July 1913) to front wrapper, ownership inscription to front free endpaper. Spine rolled, three sections lightly abraded (apparently from the removal of labels) with a few letters, upper outer corners lightly bumped, rear panel slightly marked, contents browned. A very good copy.
