NotesFirst edition, sole printing, one of 250 copies. Inscribed by the author on the title page to Oscar Wilde's second son, "Vyvyan Holland from Norman Douglas, 11 July 1930". This work "consists of an account of Fabio Giordano and his Historia Napolitana, from which Douglas here edits and prints for the first time De Capreis Insula" (Woolf). Douglas, whose novel South Wind (1917) is set on Capri, lived there for much of his adult life.
Octavo. Original pink wrappers, titles printed to front cover. Housed in a custom blue cloth chemise and blue morocco-backed slipcase.
