In a letter to Thomas Bodkin Clarke reported that his publisher regarded the illustrations in this work to be "full of stench and steaming horrors" (Bowe, p. 79).

Spine a little soiled, small abrasions to head and foot of vellum, slight bump to centre of spine, touch of wear to very tips and at head of rear panel, a very good copy.
