Though the translators were predominately Scottish, this translation was published in New York by the Grove Press, preceding the London edition by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in the same year. This classic collection, including the stories such as "Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius", "The Library of Babel", "The Garden of Forking Paths", "Funes, the Memorious", and "Death and the Compass", was originally published in Buenos Aires in 1956.
