Harry Payne (18581927) produced many series of oilette postcards for Raphael Tuck & Sons, once the world's largest postcard publisher, as well as their rivals Gale and Polden.

Harry Payne postcard tipped in to half-title with contemporary inscription, type script catalogue of British Army postcards with manuscript annotations by G. G. I. Barker tipped in to rear free endpaper, extensive manuscript annotations by Barker to appendices making note of his Payne collection, with a letter and 2 receipt loosely inserted. Rubbing to extremities, cloth visible at gutter of pp. 46-7, book block remaining firm, overall a very good, bright copy.
