Textes de Jean-Marc Barbieux.Paris, Marval, 2000 Stock Code: 136889
NotesFirst edition, first printing. This edition contains the image of "Petit Mathieu" that Morvan was forced to remove from the book. The subject, a 17 year old far-right activist, is posed with a flare gun and a hammer on a double spread (pp. 110-111): both weapons that were not outlawed at the time in France, and so could be used in street fights. The subject sued Morvan, with a French court ordering him to remove the image from subsequent issues on 20 March 2001. This copy comes with a wraparound band, announcing the court's decision to ban the book. A second edition was published in 2013 by La Manufacture de Livres, re-edited with a new series of images shot by Morvan between 2009 and 2012 - including "Petit Mathieu", and prompting a second lawsuit and banning of the book.
Quarto. Original printed pictorial wrappers, titles to front cover and spine in red and white, text to rear cover in red. With the wraparound band.
With black and white and colour photographs throughout, mostly full-page.
A little creasing to extremities, else a fine copy, with a few short closed tears to the wraparound band.
