NotesFirst editions, first printings, inscribed by the author, "To Harry Ruby with all good wishes Anita Loos", on the front free endpaper of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The recipient, songwriter Harry Ruby (1895-1974) co-wrote the song "I Wanna Be Loved by You", which featured in the 1955 film of Gentlemen Marry Brunettes. It later became one of Marilyn Monroe's most famous performances in Some Like It Hot (1959).
