Gesammelte Werke. Herausgegeben mit einer Einleitung und einem Schriftenverzeichnis von F. A. Hayek. 2. Auflage. Mit 1 Tafel.
Tübingen: J. C. B. Mohr (Paul Siebeck), 1968-70 Stock Code: 135365
Self-styled second collected edition of Menger's writings, essentially a reproduction of the four volumes printed as part of the London School of Economics series of reprints of scarce tracts in economics and political science (nos. 17-20), with the original English language introduction by Hayek here translated into German, portrait frontispeices added to each volume, and an index of authors referred to in the Untersuchungen (volume 2) added. The preface by Friedrich von Hayek, who expresses his hope that Menger, who had fallen out of favour in the previous three decades, would be re-established as a leading economist: "there must be few instances, in economics or any other branch of knowledge, where the works of an author, who revolutionized the body of an already well-developed science and who has been generally recognized to have done so, have remained so little known as those of Carl Menger". Vol. IV contains a bibliographical list of Menger's known writings.
Included are: Grundsätze der Volkswirtschaftslehre; Untersuchungen über die Methode der Socialwissenschaften und der Politischen Oekonomie insbesondere; Kleinere Schriften zur Methode und Geschichte der Volkswirtschaftslehre; Schriften über Geldtheorie und Währungspolitik.
