"The Eisenhower campaign generated tens of thousands of letters. Most of them included words of appreciation for Ike, memories of his role in WWII and as president, and testimonials about what this Bible-believing president had meant to them as Christians and as Americans" (Fea,The Bible Cause: A History of the American Bible Society, p. 294).
