Hand painted silk handkerchief with original portrait of Baker.1920s Stock Code: 136937
NotesDelightful memento of La Baker, a nicely executed portrait showing her facing left, smiling, wearing earrings and a pearl necklace and sporting her famous brilliantined Eton crop. It is apparently based on the photograph by the renowned portraitist Stanislaw Julian Ignacy, Count Ostrorog (1863-1935), who established the studio Waléry in Paris, continuing the business his father founded in Marseilles in 1872.
Cream coloured silk handkerchief (385 x 385 mm).
Creased where folded, minor toning, a few small pale spots not affecting image. In excellent condition, the portrait fresh and bright.
