Reissues, each volume inscribed by Swift on the title page. All volumes but two inscribed "To Mother & Al the name by which he called his father", to whom Ever After is also dedicated. Ever After and Last Order inscribed to Swift's mother only. "His mother Sheila Irene (née Bourne) had grown up in slightly more prosperous Upper Sydenham, while his father, Allen Stanley Swift, hailed from the more working class district down the hill; they met, married and settled somewhere in the middle" ("Triumph of the Common Man", The Guardian, 1 March 2003)

Description

7 volumes, octavo. 6 volumes in original pictorial wrappers; Waterland in original blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine, top edge gilt, and with the dust jacket.

Condition

Wrappers lightly rubbed at the edges, some spines a little faded. Dust jacket of Waterland faded along the spine panel. An excellent set.
