The large and detailed battle maps include the Battle of Yser 16 October to 31 October 1914 and a number of battles around the Steenbeck River. With the armorial bookplate of Major Alastair Joseph Edgar Gordon-Cranstoun (1910-1990), who served in the Grenadier Guards during the Second World War in France and the Middle East. He gained the rank of Major in 1946. Uncommon institutionally, traced at just four locations on OCLC.
