In Our Time.New York : 1925 Stock Code: 43475
NotesFirst American edition, first printing. The New York version of In Our Time is a radically different book from the much shorter Paris version published the year before, which consisted of just 32 pages and contained only the vignettes later used as interchapters in the New York version. Hemingway's American debut contains such well-known stories as the Nick Adams stories "Indian Camp," "The Doctor and the Doctor's Wife," "The Three Day Blow," and "The Battler", and introduces readers to the hallmarks of the Hemingway style.
Octavo. Finely bound by the Chelsea Bindery in full black morocco, titles and decoration to spine gilt, raised bands, single rule to boards gilt, twin rule to turn-ins gilt, marbled endpapers, gilt edges.
A fine copy.
