Edited with an Introduction by H. S. Foxwell.London: Macmillan and Co., 1884 Stock Code: 149558
First edition of this posthumous collection of essays, chiefly applications of statistics to questions of money, prices, and fluctuations.

Like Marshall and Pareto, Jevons was one of the few leading late nineteenth-century neoclassical exponents of deductive marginal analysis who also made valuable contributions to statistical and descriptive economics, in 'an attempt... to substitute exact inquiries, exact numerical calculations, for guess-work and groundless argument' (p. xxiv)" (IESS).
