First edition thus, number 110 of 500 copies so bound, from a total edition of 558, all printed on Arches pure rag paper matching that used by Blake.In this Trianon facsimile, the 25 plates of Chapter 1 of Blake's visionary epic Jerusalem are reproduced in full colour facsimile, working from Lord Cuncliffe's copy of Blake original hand-illuminated edition. The colouring differs markedly from the Stirling copy, which was the first Trianon Press Blake facsimile, produced in 1950.
From the library, though unmarked as such, of David Lindsay, 27th Earl of Crawford and 11th Earl of Balcarres (1900-1975), who served as chairman of the National Trust from 1945 to 1965, alongside serving as trustee of the Tate and National Galleries, the British Museum, and the National Library of Scotland.
