A ready-made economics library
A vast collection of economic literature, overwhelmingly first editions, and generally in very good condition. The collection, with a focus on 20th century works, represents almost every major economist, in predominantly English, with some foreign language works. It illustrates the development of the discipline over many decades, with all strands of economic thought represented, from Smith-Ricardian classical economics, through its re-evaluation by Marshall, its challenge by socialism, Marxism, and by Keynesianism, the near triumph of Keynes in the West, and his overthrow by neoliberal and monetarist thought. So too, the debates over specific issues are exemplified, including the gold standard versus fiat currency, protectionism versus free trade, and regulation versus laissez-faire. Keynes, the dominant economic figure of the century, is represented by his full collected works in thirty volumes as published by the Royal Economic Society, all in first printings with jackets. Together, the collection offers an instant and near-comprehensive economics library for an institution, academic, or private collector, one which could otherwise take years to assemble. A full list of books, with their edition and condition delineated, is available on request.Description
