Last and First Men.
London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1930 Stock Code: 80246
First edition, first impression. Presentation copy inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Aage Marcus from Olaf Stapledon" and also on the title page, "Olaf Stapledon in the hope that someday my wife and I may give you almost as good a time in England as you have given us in Denmark". Aage Marcus (1888-1985) was a Danish art historian and writer, and the Olaf Stapledon collection at the University of Liverpool houses two presentation copies inscribed from him to Stapledon. Stapledon presentation copies are extremely rare, and this is one of only two copies that we have ever seen in commerce.
Description
