Champagnac (1798-1858), a prolific author of educational material for young readers, included an appendix providing biographical, historical, and geographical context, as well as a glossary of marine terms at the end.

School prize label from the "Collège de Noyers" to front pastedown, dated 17 August 1843 and awarding the book to one Eugène Berger. Light wear to extremities, a little rubbed, faint foxing throughout, occasional toning; still, a very good copy.
