THE EDITOR'S OWN COPY
First edition, first printing of Wicksell's Lectures on political economy, originally published in Swedish in 1901 and 1906. The first volume concerns the theory of value, the theory of production and distribution, and capital accumulation; the second volume focuses on money, currency, and credit."Lectures I were an expansion and improvement, especially in capital theory, over what he had previously presented in Value, Capital, and Rent." Lectures II, "In part an expansion, and revision of what he had put forth in Interest and prices,... was much more than that. They were epoch-making less for their particular findings than for the broad framework and methodology they provided for analysis of money and credit." (C. G. Uhr in The New Palgrave)
From the library of Lionel Robbins, with his ownership inscription to the front free endpaper of volume I and with a loosely inserted errata sheet.
