Les Cahiers du Jazz. Revue Musicale.
1 - 16/17.Paris, Les Nouvelles Editions Musicales Modernes, 1959-64 Stock Code: 81916
NotesFirst editions of the complete run of Malson, Filipacchi and Tenot's highly influential periodical. Consciously modelled on the Cahiers du Cinema, the content was of unimpeachable seriousness, and unquestionable excellence. Contributors include Malson, Michel-Claude Jalard, Gunther Schuller, Jean Clouzet and Michel Delorme, with discographies by Jorgen Grunnet Jepsen. While condition is perhaps not ideal, this is an extremely difficult run to complete, here attractively presented.
17 issues in 16 volumes, octavo. Original printed card wraps. Housed in a black, leather-entry slipcase.
Occasional notation in the text.
Some rubbing to the wraps, occasional toning, one or two short edge-splits in the text, and a few check-marks in the discographies, but overall a very good set.
