[Letters].1941 Stock Code: 50435
NotesFirst edition, first impression; one of a limited 500 numbered copies. Florence Farr (1860-1917), a London-based actress of great beauty and dynamism, was deeply involved with both Yeats and Bernard Shaw, both theatrically (acting in plays written by them, often specifically for her) and romantically (more with Shaw than Yeats, for whom she was more muse than lover). She was also a member, with Yeats, of the Golden Dawn.
Octavo. Original white cloth-backed dark blue paper boards, white paper label to spine printed in black, blue endpapers. With the original glassine dust jacket.
Partial toning to endpapers and boards otherwise an excellent copy.
