6 volumes, large quarto. Original tan cloth, titles to front covers and spines in black. With the original lithographic pictorial dust jackets. Volumes V and VI are housed in the publisher's plain card slipcase.
Profusely illustrated in colour throughout and with 28 original lithographs by Chagall (22 in vols. I an II, frontispieces of vols. III and IV, the jackets of vols. I-IV).
First volume with bookplate to front free endpaper verso. Very minor peripheral rubbing and trivial nicking at extremities. A near-fine set.
