London Lickpenny.
London: The Ferry Press, 1973 Stock Code: 77979
First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author on the title page for prominent book collector Roland Comstock, "for Roland L. Comstock from Peter Ackroyd", together with loosely inserted records of correspondence between the two men. The first piece is a photocopied letter from Comstock thanking Ackroyd for agreeing to sign some books, explaining how they will be shipped, and asking about the errata slip included with this copy, which his book dealer had said was the only one he had ever seen. The second piece is a reproduction of an autograph letter signed by Ackroyd, who reports that "I am puzzled by the errata slip: it MAY be genuine. I just don't know, never having seen it before".
