An Autobiographical Excursion.London : 1933 Stock Code: 105292
NotesFirst and limited edition, first impression, number 36 of 535 numbered copies signed by the author. "Douglas published Looking Back in 1933, a discursive, leisurely autobiography drawing upon material accumulated over several decades, and brought out as a two-volume limited edition of 535 copies under the guidance of Charles Prentice, his friend and patron at Chatto and Windus. The entire edition was sold prior to publication, and Douglas left off writing for several years, turning down even light reviewing work" (ODNB). The book's high production values and subsequent sales attest to Douglas's contemporary fame.
