With a magazine clipping annotated by Louise BrooksFirst edition, first printing, of the actress's seven autobiographical essays on the Hollywood Golden Age. Laid in is a clipping from Focus on Film magazine with a review of David Thomson's America in the Dark which remarks on Orson Welles mirroring "the self-nurtured loneliness of the fantasist" which Brooks has marked and annotated "What would these bums do without Citizen Kane?". She las also dated the clipping and put check marks against reviews of books on Buster Keaton and Faulkner and Film.
Small quarto. Original dark blue cloth-backed white paper boards, titles to spine gilt and to front board in blue.
Illustrated with 40 black and white photographic plates.
Front board faintly bowed and with tiny abrasion to bottom corner. An excellent copy in a jacket that is very lightly rubbed at head and tail of spine panel.
