A play.New York : 1927 Stock Code: 106633
NotesFirst edition, first printing of a play completed in 1925 and not produced until January 1928, a year after this published version. A suitably attractive edition of a piece praised on performance for its elaborate stage settings, and was in fact turned down by several producers owing to the expense that they (correctly) predicted that these would entail.
Octavo. Original blue-green cloth, spine with titles and wave vignettes in gilt and publisher's device in blind, front board lettered in gilt with decorative frame incorporating wave vignette in blue, top edge black, others untrimmed, illustrated endpapers. With the dust jacket.
Title-page printed in red and black.
A few superficial scrapes to rear board, contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper. An excellent copy in the vivid dust jacket.
