Intersubjectivity

First edition: the work first appeared in this French translation. It was based on two double lectures Husserl gave at the Sorbonne in 1929. The Méditations Cartésiennes constitutes Husserl's fullest treatment of a problem which came to concern him more and more, the problem of intersubjectivity. In this work, "he tried to show how the transcendental ego constitutes other egos as equal partners in an intersubjective community, which in turn forms the foundation for the 'objective,' i.e., the intersubjective world" (Spiegelberg, p. 140).
