Memoirs of a Fox-hunting Man.London: Faber & Gwyer Limited, 1928 Stock Code: 142190
First edition, first impression, one of 1,500 copies. At the author's request, the first impression was anonymous. The book was immediately popular and Sassoon's anonymity was not long preserved; his name was included on the title page halfway through the printing of the second impression (of which 500 copies were printed anonymously), and in all subsequent impressions.
Octavo (181 x 119 mm). Finely bound by Bayntun-Riviere, in full red morocco, titles to spine in gilt, raised bands, single gilt fillet frames to compartments, boards, and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt edges.
The binding bright and firm, internally crisp; a fine copy.
