First edition, first printing. With a two-page hand-corrected typescript poem that is inscribed by the author "For Alan Jimmy 1.iii.78". Alan Ansen (1922-2006) was a central figure in the loose collection of writers known as the Beats. He was close friends with Burroughs, Ginsberg and Kerouac, and was the inspiration for several of Kerouac's characters, including "Rollo Greb" in On the Road, and for "A.J." in Burroughs's Naked Lunch.

Octavo. Original maroon boards, titles to spine gilt and to front board blind stamped, blue endpapers, yellow top-stain. With dust jacket.
Condition
An excellent copy in the dust jacket with large chips from the upper and lower panels affecting the title, and some tape residue.
