NotesFirst edition. Chesterfield's famous Letters to his son Philip were published in 1774 by James Dodsley. The Dilly brothers were quick to capitalise on their success by bringing out these Miscellaneous Works, that includes a lengthy biography by the physician and librarian Matthew Maty (1718-1776). An elegant set.
