Mrs Thatcher's Bag.London: Quarter Books Ltd, 1978 Stock Code: 131394
A humorous take on Thatcher's image and her infamous handbag, produced during her opposition period, the year before she was elected Prime Minister. Thatcher supposedly tells the buyer: "I have gathered together in this stylish handbag a most useful collection of practical tips so that even the most deprived of you who have the will and the enterprise can cultivate those exclusive qualities which have made me - and can make YOU - a model Tory lady".
Oblong quarto folder, in style of handbag, enclosing ten items as issued - a campaign button, a record of "Maggie's song", coloured folding mask, cut-out doll for colouring and dressing (3 plates), poster (Mrs Thatcher's Pearls of Wisdom), postcard, pamphlet of "Managing, a Guide to Modern Etiquette", and colophon.
Light bumping to edges of portfolio, a few marks and instances of creasing to contents, yet overall in very good condition.
