A lovely set in 25 volumes, including a dictionary and an atlas volume, all in a handsome custom cabinet.
25 volumes, sextodecimos. Publisher's purple morocco backed boards, mauve cloth to sides, titles to spine and edges gilt, marbled endpapers. All contained in a custom-made cherrywood cabinet case with two shelves and an opening glass front, the interior lined with a matching mauve cloth and the exterior with wooden inlay decorations.
Numerous black and white full page and vignette illustrations in the text, with one whole volume of colour maps.
Spines a touch faded with some light marks and small scratches to a few volumes, general spotting to endpapers but the leaves fresh. An extremely presentable set in excellent condtion.
