First edition. This paper serves as an introduction to Peano's famous Formulario project, the first edition of which was published the following year. Peano had introduced his his famous system of logical notation in 1889. He "was interested primarily in the clear presentation of mathematical results, and it was for this purpose, rather than for philosophical analysis, that he composed his Notations de logique mathématique of 1894" (Kneale & Kneale, p. 473).

Spine partially split, front wrapper with creased corner, wrappers lightly foxed; a very good copy.
