First edition, first printing, presentation copy to the founder of Renault, inscribed on the front free endpaper "a monsieur Louis Renault hommage respectueux & dévoué X. Treney". Treney's book acts as a primer of basic economic principles. At the time of publication, Renualt and his brothers had run the Renault Frères company for seven years, which Louis took sole control of in 1908; the company dominated French automobile manufacturing thereafter.
