Overland to India.London, Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1910 Stock Code: 60558
NotesFirst edition in English, same year as the first in Swedish. An account of Hedin's journey from Tehran to Lahore, extensively, and superbly, illustrated from the author's own photographs.
2 volumes octavo. Original mid-blue cloth, title gilt to spine, camel head tool to the upper boards, top edges gilt, others uncut. In dust jackets.
Coloured frontispieces and 4 other coloured plates, numerous black and white plates from photographs, 4 folding panoramas, 2 large folding coloured maps.
Cloth a touch dulled in places, light toning, one photographic section a little loose, but overall a very good set in slightly rubbed and chipped jackets, that of Volume I lacking the top part of the spine, but unusual thus nonetheless.
