First state of Man Ray's first monograph
First edition, first printing. The first state with the original title page. Most copies of the first printing were recalled and the title page and verso were replaced with two different printed title pages in English and French with "second edition" and "deuxième édition" added to suggest the first edition had sold out to create further demand. Exceedingly rare with the original title page. With text in English and French by Man Ray, Paul Eluard, André Breton, and Tristan Tzara and in English and German by Rrose Sélavy Marcel Duchamp. Condition
Part of the top loop from the ringbound strip missing, some skinning to the gloss and a diagonal crease to the lower corner of the back wrapper, edges lightly rubbed to the front wrapper, internally a bright clean copy.
