Plays in Prose and Verse.
Written for an Irish Theatre, and Generally with the Help of a Friend.London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1922 Stock Code: 143556
NotesFirst edition, first impression, a lovely copy, uncommon in the jacket.
This collection contains Yeats's plays: Cathleen ni Houlihan, The Pot of Broth, The King's Threshold, On Baile's Strand, The Shadowy Waters, Deridre, The Unicorn from the Stars (written in collaboration with Lady Gregory), The Green Helmet, The Hour-Glass and The Player Queen. 1,500 copies were printed, and they do not often survive in the jacket, especially not in such excellent condition.
Octavo. Original green cloth, decorative motifs in blind to spine and front board, titles to spine in gilt, Yeats's unicorn design to pastedowns. With the dust jacket.
1 page of publisher's advertisements at end.
Spine ends gently bumped and rubbed, light sunning to spine, the binding otherwise firm and square, light spotting to top edge, internally fresh, clean, and unmarked. A very good copy indeed, in the very good jacket, small nicks to corners, faint toning to spine panel, else clean.
